Lady (who is in the ED with a virus that involves diarrhea and vomiting) to her mother, who is holding a baby: "Mom, give her to me--let me kiss her goodbye."
Me and my tech simultaneously: "NOOOOOO!!"
Lady: "I shouldn't kiss the baby?"
Me: "not unless you want the baby to be as sick as you are rigt now!"

You are right. People are truly stupid.
I had that over Christmas when I was home visiting my relatives. If my family could have set up an isolation ward, they would have done so...
Some people just don't get it!
Was the mother as clueless?
Just reading that gave me the urge to wash my hands.
More freaks!
It's like the people who let their toddler crawl around on the floor of the ED/waiting room.
I usually say to them once: you know, I don't wear these shoes into my house because of the germs on these floors...you might want to keep little Timmy's hands off it, especially since they keep going into his mouth.
75% of the time they don't bother picking the kid up.
My ward is FULL of them. I swear we need to be provided with helmets due to how often we bang our heads against the wall from their stupidity.
Ignorant is the word that I would use rather than stupid.
idiot....
