Just Desserts

That karma sure is a bitch.

Tonight one of our freshly minted new attendings humilated me and made me look like a complete and utter incompetent in front of a patient's spouse with the sole purpose of pacifying said spouse and making Dr. New Attending look like a hero.

I won't go into details because I'm pissed off and tired and I want to go to bed, but basically I was made to look like a weenie over things 1) about which he had not gathered the full and correct information, 2) that were totally out of my control, and 3) and were not in my scope of practice.

Gah! And I guarantee no apology will be forthcoming either.

This is karma.

If you behaved in the same way to others.

With regard to the recent intern "incident," from your description, at most I would say that you were indelicate.

From your description of this, the word indelicate would not apply, except for someone trying to claim that attendings' behaviors should be judged differently from other humans' behaviors, or that other humans should not judge attending physicians.

Since that is not the case, this is not karma.

As far as I'm concerned, after reading some of your blog posts, your fans comments, your attitudes towards patients you think less of, and "intern dude" and all that.... serves you right.

Now I'm done with this blog!

Flame me all you want...lol!

Dissolve 1 package of pill-form stool softener in 2 oz warm water. Put 1 oz of this solution into his coffee cup. Nuff said.
