Dear Trolls,

Just because YOU THINK that people can hear exactly what it is YOU are thinking about them does not mean that it is true for you OR for other people.

That's called thought broadcasting and it is a symptom of schizophrenia.

When I think things about people, I know they cannot hear my thoughts. In the adult world, it is possible to think things about people and not act on them. It is possible to treat people in a way that does not reflect your personal thoughts or beliefs. This is called being professional.

And then you get to go home and blog about what you've seen.

Oh, and Trolls? It's a good thing you can't hear my thoughts. You would be very unhappy.

Trolls make me happy. Well, when they're on other people's blogs, that is.

I think trolls are cute!

I clicked on that link and

AAAAAAAAAAAGH!

I always found those troll dolls a little bit disturbing when I was little.

But then again, when I was little, I used to be afraid to touch things made out of rubber, and I spent a lot of time pretending to be a mushroom right around that same age, so, maybe you should take that opinion with a grain of salt.

I read back over the last three months of entries, this morning. I see the love of the job. I also see the need to vent about all of the problems.

Laugh. At the trolls, at the people who cannot function in a modern world, at the coworkers who do not care, at management which is unwilling to support you. This is the only way to stay sane and healthy. Don't burn out on us, and keep giving us new posts.

I just found your blog & love it! Ignore the trolls - I'd be happy having you as my nurse. I seem to end up in the ER a couple times a year...because I am total clutz.....and see allot of people I believe aren't sick (no I am not a nurse so I don't know if they are truly sick or not)& in my opinion - nurses are WAY to nice to some of them. So thanks for the great blog - I'm sure you rock as a nurse.

How do you pretend to be a mushroom? Is it different from pretending to be a toadstool or an endtable? I just wondered.

Just a lurker showing up to be all supportive. And to encourage you to go look at your sitemeter stats to figure out whence your trolls. (From the nature of the comments, I betcha someone posted a link on a forum for recovering addicts, and you got an influx of indignation.)

Clicked in from AD's site. Ignore the trolls, you're seeing clearly.
I added you to my blog links, and will be back to hear your stories

I used to pull my shirt over my knees and sit in a corner quietly.

If someone asked, I'd say, "I'm being a mushroom."

An END TABLE? What, do you think I'm crazy? Feh!

Does anyone who disagrees with you get labeled a troll? Is that the deifinition of "troll"? I thought a troll was someone who deliberately posts stuff to stir people up and then sits back and laughs at them. I happened upon your site because it came up in my Google News Alert. I sure didn't read it on any addiction forum. I posted because I honestly felt saddened by it, as a former nurse. You don't have to agree, fine, but why call me a troll?

hey March 8 601 - how about starting with not posting anonymously?

GG: came over from AD's...like your style and will be a regular visitor.
I'm gonna be so bold as to answer Anon 6:01
You don't have to agree with her..but be aware, when you leave a comment on someone's blog...your are talking to them, or someone else visiting on THEIR HOUSE.
If you had bothered to read all of GG's comments in the Methadonian post that set all this off...you would see that this is where she...just go read it yourself. Then practice some of the compassion your so proud of!
And please, come visit MY house.

GG, I can't wait to read more of your stuff. If you ever need a nice patient who will make you laugh even when she's in pain or really sick, take MY chart.

Anon 601:

I don't call people who disagree with me Trolls.

But if you come read my blog and disagree with me because you are blatantly misreading it, or are going to act holier-than-thou, or are going to post anonymously, then, yes, you're a troll.

I haven't deleted any of the posts anyone has made. Everyone's entitled to their opinion! And I'm entitled to mine, and to defend my thoughts and opinions.

Thanks for reading!

I'm sorry so many people crop dusted you in your own home. (farting and leaving) I liked your original story and don't understand the upset. He reminds me of my brother - a potentially good guy on the wrong path.
